"The Nutcracker" At the Barclay Theater

This Yuletide tradition features internationally acclaimed guest artists from American Ballet Theatre. Family-friendly and affordable, there are 10 scheduled performances. The full-length traditional production, choreographed and directed by Festival Ballet Theatre's Artistic Director Salwa Rizkalla, honors the international themes and fantasy aspects of the popular story ballet that features a cast of more than 180 Southern California children and professional dancers.

MS Walk
April

The National MS Society's mission is to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. They are currently accepting registrations via, email, mail or over the telephone for this 10k walk.

Annual Studio Arts Festival
May/June

Free to the public, this festival showcases more than 80 Orange County artists displaying handcrafted items including ceramics, original jewelry designs, glass, fiber, woodworking and 2-dimensional art.

Throughout the day, artists demonstrate their work, including ceramic wheel throwing, portrait sculpture and plein air painting. Live music will be featured and food will be available for purchase throughout the day.The Fine Arts Center is in Heritage Park, Yale at Walnut.

Annual Irish Fair and Music Festival
June

The Great American Irish Fair and Music Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the Western United States. The Fair highlights 16 entertainment areas featuring the very best in the music, song, dance and sport of the Irish, along with over 100 Irish, Scottish and English import shops and arts and crafts vendors along with sheepherding shows, Irish horse shows, Irish dog shows and one of the largest Irish Step Dancing competitions in California.

St. Pauls Annual Greek Festival
June

"A Taste of Greece"
A fun-filled festival for the whole family with Greek food, music, boutiques, dance (and dancing lessons!) and carnival.

5K VisionWalk
June

The event will raise money for the research that will lead to cures for retinal degenerative diseases, including retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher syndrome, Stargardt disease, and numerous others. These diseases affect more than nine million Americans of all races and ethnic groups, young and old. More than 600 members of the community are expected to participate in this year's Walk.

Irvine Global Village Festival -
October

Boasting artistic cultural performances on three stages, the Festival's live entertainment is a mosaic of music and dance representing more than 50 cultures from Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. Boot Hill
October

An elaborate yard display in Irvine, BOOT HILL rises from the fog for it's 8th year to inhabit the residence at 16 Goldenrod. The unearthly spirits from the old west town of Bridgewood will materialize for four short nights, transforming the residence at 16 Goldenrod into the old church and cemetery that once occupied the land. Come if you dare...but beware the ghost of Jedediah Smith, he has been known to roam through the decaying grounds of Boot Hill.

Free to all, donations are accepted with proceeds going to CHOC: Children's Hospital of Orange County.
