ANAHEIM

Anaheim Cemetery Memorial Day Program
May 28, 2018
11:00 a.m.

The Orange County Cemetery District will host Memorial Day Services honoring veterans at all three of the District's cemeteries; Anaheim Cemetery, El Toro Memorial Park and Santa Ana Cemetery.

The program is sponsored by The American Legion Post 72 and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3173 and includes a variety of guest speakers, wreath presentations, and an Honor Guard Firing Salute.

DANA POINT

Veterans of War Memorial Day Event
Monday, May 28, 2018
10:00 a.m.

Dana Point Veterans of War Post 9934 presents this annual Memorial Day Event held at Pines Park in Capistrano Beach. This Memorial Day Service will include the Marine Corps Color Guard from Camp Pendleton. A special part of this program is the “Boots and Rifle” ceremony conducted by officers of Post 9934, and the bugle call, TAPS played by that master of the trumpet, David Longoria.

This special memorial for all fallen veterans of all wars with flowers to be placed on memorial for loved ones and friends who served our country and have passed on.

FULLERTON

Fullerton Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 28, 2018
10:00 a.m.

Celebrating the anniversary of WWI ending and the families of those who serve will be featured in a special salute. Patriotic speaker for this year's event will be Captain Curt Jones, United States Navy.

Free to the public, the program is sponsored by the nonprofit American Veterans Memorial Association and the City of Fullerton. Members of the public including all veterans and their families are invited to attend.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 28, 2018
11:00 a.m.

This Memorial Day ceremony in honor of veterans who have lost their lives in battle is hosted by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Jewish War Veterans. Hosted by the American Legion Post 133, this event features a 21-gun salute, flag-raising and playing of taps. Local dignitaries will officiate.

IRVINE

Memorial Day Ceremonies
Two Ceremonies, May 27 & May 28, 2018

To honor our nation’s fallen, the City of Irvine is hosting two Memorial Day events.

Sunday, May 27, at 4 p.m
The Northwood Memorial Candle Lighting Ceremony - a special candle lighting ceremony will be held at the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial and will include presentations by Gold Star families. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Monday, May 28, at 10 a.m
The City of Irvine will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony in the Formal Garden at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park. Attendees can memorialize our troops' sacrifice by writing down a brief remembrance to be posted on a memory board at the event. Cards will be available for well-wishers to send a message of appreciation and support to members of Irvine's adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion.

LAGUNA HILLS

Memorial Day Half Marathon
May 28, 2018

Honoring the United States Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion, this favorite Memorial Day running event takes place in the beautiful Orange County cities of Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Woods, and Laguna Niguel. Runners and walkers of all experience levels are invited to come out and enjoy the Memorial Day festivities!

With a half marathon (13.1 miles), 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles), 10K Run/Walk (6.2 miles) and a Kid's Run (1/2 Mile), there is something for everyone!

Starts in front of the Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and finishes at the Laguna Hills Community Center.

El Toro Memorial Park Memorial Day Program

The program will feature guest speakers, special musical performances, a wreath laying ceremony, and an honor guard firing salute. Featured speaker will be Ret. Army Colonel & Lake Forest Council Member, Thomas Cagley

Parking and seating are limited. If you do not arrive early, it is recommended that you bring your own lawn chair. Admission is free.

SAN CLEMENTE

Memorial Day Event
Monday, May 28, 2018
11 am

The City of San Clemente invites the community to join in our annual observance to remember all fallen soldiers of war. The program features key note speaker Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Mount, United States Marine Corps, Wounded Warrior Battalion West. In addition to the military speaker, San Clemente Mayor Tim Brown will present the City welcome address, San Clemente Chief of Police Services, Lieutenant Mike Peters will conduct the Pledge of Allegiance with the Marine Corps Color Guard. Father Jim Ries, Our Lady of Fatima Pastor will provide the invocation and benediction with music from Our Savior’s Lutheran School Children, Tim Kepler, and John Lindahl, professional recording artists.

The event is free and open to the public.

Santa Ana Cemetery Memorial Day Program

The Orange County Cemetery District will host Memorial Day Services honoring veterans at all three of the District's cemeteries; Anaheim Cemetery, El Toro Memorial Park and Santa Ana Cemetery.

All services are open to the public and attendance is free. The program features guest speakers, special musical performances, combined color guards with a parade of flags, a wreath presentation ceremony, cannon salutes and an honor guard rifle salute..

YORBA LINDA

Commemorate Memorial Day at the Nixon Library
Monday, May 28, 2018
11:00 AM Ceremony, 3:30 pm concert

Ceremony 11:00 am - Wreath laying and remarks by Medal of Honor Recipient Hershel “Woody” Williams, a decorated Marine Corps veteran of the iconic Battle of Iwo Jima. Williams is the last living Marine to receive the nation’s highest award for valor from serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Formal Presentation of the Colors and 21-Gun Salute by the 1st Marine Division.

Concert 3:30 pm - The renowned Placentia Symphonic Band will perform their classic setlist of All-American favorites in the East Room.

Admission is Free.
