Veterans Day Ceremony
November 11, 2020
11 am

For 2020 - tentative. Please check with the City of Anaheim website to make sure this event has not been cancelled.

The event will include several speakers, representatives from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, cake and refreshments. We'll also celebrate the U.S. Marine Corps' 244th birthday.

Free to attend, all are welcome.

Veterans Day Ceremony - virtual
November 11, 2020
10 am

For 2020 - Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Brea's annual Veterans Day Ceremony has been cancelled. In its place, the City will still honor all Veterans by hosting a virtual ceremony this year. The virtual ceremony will be aired on Veterans Day, which is on Wednesday, November 11, at 10 a.m. on BreaTV channels 3 & 9. Click here to more information.

Honoring all the Men and Women Who Have Selflessly Served Our Country. You are invited to join the Brea community as they pay tribute to all military heroes, veterans, retired and active duty, and to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to their country.

Plan to arrive early, as seating and parking are limited. The underground parking at the Civic and Cultural Center will be closed at 9:15 a.m. Parking is also available at the Brea Community Center on Randolph and Madison Way.

Veterans of Foreign War Memorial Day Event
Monday, November 11, 2019
10:00 am

For 2020 - The event for this year is being moved from the Veterans Memorial to the Dana Point Community Center to provide a safer environnment due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Advance registration with the City of Dana Point Recreation Department is required for admission to the program.

The entire community is invited to join the Veterans of Foreign War for a day of remembrance.

The program will include an unveiling of the updated memorial plaques which list the names of persons who have died during the past year who were members of VFW Post 9934 or members of families of Dana Point residents.

Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony
November 11 - Cancelled this year
10 am - 12 noon

The observance, hosted by Fullerton American Legion Post 142, Fullerton Emblem Club 469 and the City of Fullerton, will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a parade in Fullerton’s historic downtown. The parade will begin at the Downtown Plaza, located on Wilshire Avenue, east of Harbor Boulevard and adjacent to the Fullerton Museum Center, go North on Harbor Blvd., to the newly renovated Hillcrest Park.

Once at Hillcrest Park, a ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. The ceremony will include placement of wreaths, patriotic solos by Kristen Romero, a gun salute by the Fullerton Police Department and the playing of “Taps”.

Veteran's Day Ceremony and Car Show
November 11 - not scheduled this year
9 AM - 2 PM

The annual Veteran's Day Ceremony and Car Show in Huntington Beach remembers and honors the sacrifices of those Americans who gave their time, their fighting spirit and sometimes their lives in war. Beginning at Pier Plaza with a Veteran's Day Ceremony, the day continues with hundreds of classic, collector cars, customs, motorcycles and more at the city beach parking lot. Enjoy various vendors with great food, stage entertainment including performances from local bands, and more.

Attendance is free though there is a fee if you plan to register and show a car. The event registration and donations support special veteran’s programs with proceeds from the event donated to nonprofit organizations.

Military Gas Giveaway

Each year, Veterans Day reminds us of all the brave men and women who fight for freedom on our behalf. The members of our military make countless sacrifices to protect the lives we enjoy in this country. What they do takes an incredible amount of courage and they deserve our most sincere thanks. While things may be different this year, Nuvision will be honoring active military and veterans with a free $25 gas card giveaway outside at the Edinger branch in Huntington Beach on Wednesday, November 11th*. Please note, you must pre-register.

The Veterans Day gas card giveaway event will go from 8:00 AM to 11 AM. Pastries and coffee will also be provided for those who attend. In addition, we will also have an outdoor ceremony honoring military veterans at 9:00 AM with special guests including singer Elliott McKenzie, Centenarian William Kull, Seal Beach Naval Battalion Cadets, HB American Legion, OC Freedom Committee, and many others.

Veterans Day Ceremonies
November 11, 2020

For 2020 - The City of Irvine hosts a special modified ceremony to pay tribute to our nation’s troops — past and present — and honor local veterans, veterans groups, and military organizations. The Veterans Day ceremony will be presented online for the community to view at their convenience. The presentation will include a tribute from Mayor Christina L. Shea, remarks from officers from the City’s adopted Marine battalion, and musical performances and event footage from past ceremonies. For more information, call 949-724-6606.

In honor of our veterans and in support of their families, the City of Irvine is hosting a special Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November Nov. 11 at Col. Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park. The event is free and open to the public.

Pretend City Children's Museum: Remembering Veterans Day

Veterans Day Event
November 11, 2020
11 am

For 2020 - This year, the traditional Veterans Day celebration will consist of a virtual event that will be streamed through the LHRecreation Facebook page. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 11th at 11 am. We have taped the singing of the national anthem, posting of the colors and will have a live broadcast of the prayer, a message from the Mayor, and a message from commander of American Legion Post 267. We will have taped messages from Congressman Gil Cisneros, Supervisor Doug Chaffee, and District Attorney Todd Spitzer. There will be a musical tribute to local veterans, and the event will end with a taped version of the national anthem and “God Bless the USA” sung by firefighter Humberto Argucia.

The City of La Habra and American Legion Post 267 hosts a Veterans Day program every year at the La Habra Community Center.

Veterans Day Observance Ceremony
November 11, 2020
10 am

For 2020 - Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Placentia's annual Veterans Observance Ceremony will be held virtually. The City will honor our Veterans by hosting a virtual ceremony to be aired on Wednesday, November 11 at 10:00 am on the City's Facebook and YouTube pages. The event will include the addition of new names to the monument wall, an interview with a person whose name is on the wall, a discussion of the Military Banner Recognition Program, an interview at Veterans Village, and more.

The City of Placentia will be hosting the 31st Annual Veterans Day Observance Ceremony at the Placentia Civic Center. The City is grateful for the many sacrifices made by the men and women who have served our Country. In their honor, we invite all residents, veterans, and their families to celebrate this Veterans Day with us. Special guest speakers, patriotic music and the new recipients of the Military Banner Recognition Program will be included in the event program.

In addition, the veterans monument expansion project will be unveiled and the additional names being added to the new monument stones.

Veterans Day Commemoration
No event scheduled this year

Help honor the service of American military members at the November 11th Veterans Day celebration in the beautiful East Room at the Nixon Presidential Library.

There will be a Formal Presentation of Colors by the Troy High School Navy JROTC Program led by Col. Wayne Scott, USAF, Ret. who will be joined in conversation with World War II veterans, Corporal Nick Devereux, US Army Radioman Second Class Don Fosburg, US Navy. At 1:30pm, the Placentia Symphonic Band is in its 18th year of concerts for the people of Southern California.
