The Monarch Bay neighborhood is an oceanfront community located in the Monarch Beach area of Dana Point, California. The Monarch Bay neighborhood is an exclusive guard gated community in Monarch Beach with approximately 214 homes that are ideally located near the Salt Creek Beach, St. Regis Hotel, Ritz Carlton and the Montage Resort. This is a private gated community with members enjoying a private beach club and first class beach services in providing beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and food service. The majority of the houses were built here in the 1960's with some newer construction homes as well. There is a variety of three to six bedroom houses that will range in size from 1,672 to 9,100 square feet of living space.
Monarch Bay is also known with its spectacular beach - there is a public beach below a private beach club in the gated community of Monarch Beach in Dana Point, CA. The Monarch Bay Beach Club has a parking lot and a nice facility on the beach for its members and guests. For the rest of us who want to walk on the beach, there is a Salt Creek Beach Park next to the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel - both wonderful views and places to spend the day. This is a popular park with a wide sandy beach at the bottom of the hill. As you walk north on the sand toward the Monarch Beach the people thin out and it becomes a peaceful stroll. Salt Creek flows through the sand near the Beach Club sometimes, but most of the time it pools up behind the beach. Birds are a common sight at Monarch Beach. North of the Beach Club the beach becomes a narrow boulder field, but there is a small sandy beach beyond the boulders that is worth exploring. There are caves in the rock walls in this area to discover. The wet part of Monarch Bay Beach is public (the area below the mean high tide level) so anyone can walk here from Salt Creek Beach Park if they want to explore toward the point.
Monarch Bay sits beside a beautiful beach with miles of walking along the surf’s edge. Homeowners enjoy free memberships in the newly remodeled private beach club where food and drink are served in the dining room and al fresco on the ocean deck and lawn. This in turn makes real estate in Monarch Bay one of Southern California’s most desirable locations.
