Spinal Decompression Therapy Reverses Herniated Discs

Herniated Discs can cause a variety of symptoms - many can be severe and debilitating. Several treatment options exist to treat the symptoms of a Herniated Disc, but a revolutionary treatment known as DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy has turned the world of Herniated Disc treatment upside down.

In order to understand how DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy works you must first understand the functions of a health spinal disc (also know as an Intervertebral Disc). It is the only treatment that has been scientifically shown to correct a Disc Herniation without surgery. DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy is painless, scientifically proven and highly effective.

The Discs of the Spine: An Overview

The bones of the spine are separated by tough cartilage pads called intervertebral discs (inter = "between"; vertebral = "bones of the spine"). Healthy discs are thick and flexible (like a wet sponge) and allow a wide range of bending and twisting motions. An unhealthy disc is hard and stiff (like a dry sponge) and prone to injuries such as bulging or herniation. Over time gravity, joint dysfunction and accumulated trauma cause the discs to compress, flatten and degenerate. This constant compression prevents vital oxygen and nutrients from entering the disc. This ongoing starvation causes the once-tough outer layers of the disc to soften which allows the disc to become injured or diseased. Disc damage can occur anywhere in the spine. However, the discs of the neck (cervical spine) and low back (lumbar spine) are the most commonly injured.

Significant disc injury can lead to a Disc Bulge, become a tear called a Herniated Disc or the inner "jelly" material of the disc can leak out in the case of a Ruptured Disc. The "jelly center" of the disc can also dry out over time which is referred to as Degenerative Disc Disease. All forms of disc injury can eventually pinch the nerves exiting the spine ("Pinched Nerve") which can create numbness, tingling, burning or sharp pain down the arms or legs. Sharp pain originating from the back and "shooting" down the legs is often referred to as Sciatica. The most effective treatment available to reverse pain caused by a herniated disc is Spinal Decompression Therapy using the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Unit.

Herniated Disc of the Low Back

A Herniated Disc in the Low Back can cause numbness, tingling, burning, sharp pain or weakness in the low back, legs or feet. Sharp pain shooting down the back of the legs is often called Sciatica.

Herniated Disc in the Neck

A Herniated Disc in the Neck can cause numbness, tingling, burning, sharp pain or weakness in the arms or hands. Symptoms such as these in the hands can often be mistaken for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Herniated Disc: DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy eliminates pressure on the spinal nerves caused by the Herniated Disc. When the nerve compression is gone, so is the pain!

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy reduces pressure within the spinal discs (also called decompression) by slow and methodically separating the bones of the spine. When the pressure is brought down to zero and then below zero a vacuum is formed. The vacuum "sucks" the Herniated portion of the disc back toward the center. Over time the disc regains its healthy shape returning the spine to its normal pain-free function. This vacuum also pulls vitally important oxygen and nutrients into the disc to "kick start" the healing process to reverse the disc degeneration.

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy: When Negative Is a Positive

Scientists can now measure pressures put on spinal discs during different physical activities - such as lifting, standing, sitting, lying down undergoing traction and even during DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy. The pressure within the spinal disc is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg) - just like blood pressure.

Some people find it surprising to learn that even in our most relaxed state (lying down as with sleep) the pressure within our discs rarely drops below 75 mmHg. Therefore, our spinal discs are ALWAYS being compressed in one way or another. That internal disc pressure increases with standing (100 mmHg), sitting (200 mmHg) or lifting even with proper body mechanics (300 mmHg). The pressure climbs higher during certain activities such as lifting incorrectly which can exert upwards of 800 mmHg of pressure - 8 times more than gravity by itself when standing!

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy: Formula for Relief

Why is this important? During most body positions oxygen and nutrient-rich fluid within the discs is constantly being pushed OUT of the disc (spinal disc compression). In order for the disc to receive an infusion of healthy oxygen and nutrients the intradiscal fluid would need to "travel upstream" to re-fill the disc.

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy is the only treatment that has been scientifically demonstrated to reduce this pressure to 160 mmHg BELOW ZERO (-160 mmHg). This reverses the flow of fluid allowing oxygen and nutrients to return to the disc (spinal disc decompression) to start the healing process. As an example traction has only been shown to reduce intradiscal pressure to around 40 mmHg ABOVE ZERO - no vacuum is created with traction.

The DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Therapy motion is computer controlled to provide gentle and painless decompression of the spinal discs. The DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Unit cycles the treatment through a series of gentle pulls followed by brief periods of rest. This oscillation creates a "pumping" action that enhances the effectiveness of the negative disc pressure generated by the DRX9000.
