Swallows Day Fiesta Grande - San Juan Capistrano

This night of Old West entertainment consists of four contests are rolled into one! Best Dressed Old West Man, Best Dressed Old West Woman, Best Belt Buckle, and the Hairiest Man (best moustache and/or beard). So don your finest Old West outfit, belt buckle or facial hair! and enter one or more of the contests. There is a $5 entry fee (pay when you arrive) per category for each contestant entered.

For the more timid, spectators are always welcome at the hilarious Fiesta Grandé.

Swallows Day Parade & Mercado - San Juan Capistrano

The Parade takes place in down-town San Juan Capistrano. This is the nation's largest non-motorized parade. It is totally organized and presented by the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association. Arrive early; most street closures are by 10.00 a.m. The parade begins promptly at 11 am.

The Mercado is a Street Fair and Market Place where you can eat, drink, and shop at over 100 booths. It is THE place to be after the parade! Listen and dance to the music of The Working Cowboy Band, a traditional country music band.

Pretend City's School Readiness Fair - Irvine

9 am - 2 pm

Hosted by Pretend city, the School Readiness Fair will provide free health, speech, dental, vision and developmental screening services and fun activities. Early learning specialists from several Orange County school districts will be on site to assist with school registration and answer district specific questions. Vendors will also be on site to introduce families to new learning materials, programs and learning opportunities to further assist each student’s individual needs.

This is a free community event focusing on providing parents with the core information needed to ensure children are ready to start kindergarten. Children that complete 3 health screenings will also receive a free ticket to Pretend City.
