KWANZAA
CELEBRATION
December
Kwanza, derived from Swahili; means "first"
and comes from the saying mantunda ya Kwanza,
or "first fruits." The extra "a" represents
African-American values. The celebration
honors seven days in which seven basic principles
are recognized.
