Anaheim Cemetery Memorial Day Program

The Orange County Cemetery District will once again host in person Memorial Day Services honoring veterans at all three of the District's cemeteries; Anaheim Cemetery, El Toro Memorial Park and Santa Ana Cemetery.
The program is sponsored by the American Legion Post 72 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3173. The observance will include special guest speakers, a wreath presentation and a Rifle Volley Salute. The Orange County Cemetery District wishes to thank all of the many volunteers who are making this program possible.

Veterans
of War Memorial Day Event

We will be hosting our yearly event here at Memory Garden Memorial Park & Mortuary to honor our veterans. Visitor's are welcome to come down to view the flags during and after their placement. We ask volunteer's to arrive between 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM.
Memory Garden's first "Avenue of the Flags" displayed six flags on May 30, 1958. Today there are over 1100 full size burial flags flown each Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Each one of these flags was given by a grateful nation to the family of a Veteran at the time of his or her passing. The grave of each Veteran interred in our cemetery will also be decorated with a white cross and a miniature flag.

A Commanding Officer from Irvine's adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion will offer a time of reflection and tribute for these brave men and women. For those wishing to express their gratitude, the City will provide cards for you to write messages of support and appreciation to the members of Irvine's adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion.

Honoring the United States Marine Corps Dark Horse Battalion, this
favorite Memorial Day running event takes
place in the beautiful Orange County cities
of Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Woods,
and Laguna Niguel. Runners and walkers of
all experience levels are invited to come
out and enjoy the Memorial Day festivities!
With a half marathon (13.1 miles), 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles), 10K Run/Walk (6.2 miles) and a Kid's Run (1/2 Mile), there is something for everyone!

El Toro Memorial Park Memorial Day Program

The program will include the reading of General Logan's Order, the recognition of attending Veterans and Blue and Gold Star Mothers, and a wreath presentation by representatives from the surrounding cities. An Honor Guard Firing Salute will be provided by members of VFW Post 6024. Special music will be provided by the Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley. Musician, Richard Cook will play "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes and the sounding of "Taps' will be played by bugler, Alfred Lang.
The program will be held in the Old Section at the rear of the park. The program is free to the public and will take place rain or shine. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and seating for 400 will be provided.

Mission Viejo Memorial Day Virtual Ceremony

The City’s Memorial Day ceremony will include guest speakers, a color guard, bag piper, rifle salute, a live vocal performance and taps. The ceremony will feature sign language interpreter for the hearing impaired.
Coffee and light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

Commemorate Memorial Day at the Nixon Library

In honor of those who lost their lives in service to our country, the Nixon Foundation will host a Memorial Day program on Monday, May 26. Programming will begin at 10:30 with a formal presentation of colors and remarks.
At 11:00 AM the Huntington Concert Band will perform its spectacular repertoire of patriotic favorites in the Nixon Library’s exact replica of America’s Grand Ballroom, more formally known as the White House East Room.
