Day Ceremony
The
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3173 and the American
Legion Post 72 is sponsoring a Memorial Day observance
and barbecue. The observance will include a flag
presentation by the American Legion. VFW members
and a local Boy Scout troop will plan to put up
white crosses, poppies and flags at the graves
of veterans the day before Memorial Day. The free
barbecue begins at 1 p.m. at the VFW location
at 805 E. Sycamore St.

service of their country, Memory Garden Partk
displays an Avenue of Flags around the Veterans
Field of Honor. This tradition is a well-known
and well-attended event in the community, and
Memory Garden is proud to do our part in honor
of those who served and their families.

Annual Fullerton Memorial Day Observance
DETAILS:
Lt. Col. John Sullivan, commander of the 548th
Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, a unit of
the 10th Mountain Division, will be the guest
speaker at the 69th annual Fullerton Memorial
Day Observance. Free to the public, the program
is sponsored by the nonprofit American Veterans
Memorial Association and the city of Fullerton.
Patriotic music will be sung by Dave Deno, creative
director for radio station KKLA, and Kristen Romero,
dispatcher for the Fullerton Police Department.
Police officers will present the gun salute while
members of the Golf Company Infantry of the U.S.
Marine Corps Reserves will help with the wreath-laying
ceremony. Various veterans groups will also participate.
