TET FESTIVAL - Garden Grove
February 12-14, 2010

Sponsored by the Union of Vietnamese Students Association, celebrates the arrival of spring and the first day of the lunar year. The event is held annually in February in the Garden Grove Park.

Annual CARe Show to Benefit San Juan Capistrano Animal Rescue Organization - San Juan Capistrano

Cars from all over Southern California are expected to participate in the open-class show, with trophies going to the top 15 entries.

The CARe Show will also include live entertainment by a popular local band, displays, vendor booths, opportunity drawings, and celebrity guests including the inspiration for Ruby's Diner, local resident Ruby Cavanaugh. Food and beverages will be available from presenting sponsor Ruby's Diner.

Annual Dr. Joe Cortese Memorial Motorcycle Poker Run - Irvine

Honoring popular local vet who passed away in 2008, this fun ride begins at event sponsor Mission Motorsports in Irvine and wends through various south Orange County locations before finishing at the popular fund-raiser, 7th Annual CARe Show Presented by Ruby's Diner in San Juan Capistrano. "Runners" will receive coffee and donuts, a free lunch from Ruby's, cash prizes for the winner and biggest loser, and a view of the more than 400 classic and vintage cars on display. Open to all motorcycle types. Benefits CARE and the San Juan Capistrano Rotary Club, which is partnering with the San Juan Hills High School Boosters in the event.

O'Neill Land Conservancy Mushroom Hunt

Search for fungi which pop up after seasonal rains. Unlike plants, fungi don't photosynthesize, but they do "fruit," producing mushrooms which contain spores rather than seeds. Discovery Science Center Presents: Secrets of Circles - Santa Ana

This exciting new exhibit celebrates the math, science and beauty of such a simple shape and helps children and adults alike to uncover the secrets of the many circles in the world. Secrets of Circles Exhibit Gears Exhibit Inventing the Wheel Kaleidoscope Lathe Spin Pictures Throughout the exhibit, there are examples of two and three-dimensional circular forms to help to learn how circles aid engineers in solving problems.
