MOUNTAIN BIKING LOCATIONS:

Aliso & Wood Canyon Wilderness Park: Located in Aliso Viejo in Orange County, California. The park offers a variety of terrain from the most challenging of singletrack to the smoothest of fire roads. The park is closed for three days after any rain to prevent trail damage. Maps are available at ranger station.

  • Facilities: Off of the parking area.
  • Difficulty: Beginner to expert
  • Trail Users: Almost entirely bikers and hikers. Not many equestrians.

Whiting Ranch

Very popular for the novice rider. Please use caution when riding. Especially if you are a beginner. You'll have to learn what your limits are and when to slow down. A little bit of info for advanced riders

Directions: Exit Interstate 5 at Lake Forest Drive and head east for 4-5 miles until you get to Portola Ave. Go left on Portola, past Bake Ave. and turn into the Ralph's parking lot on the right hand side. Towards the far left end of the parking lot you will see the entrance to the park and designated parking. Make sure you put money in the box or it can cost you a big fat ticket.

  • Facilities: Off of the parking area
  • Difficulty: Beginner to intermediate
  • Trail Users: Mostly bikers, but equestrians are common, hikers also are present

Crystal Cove State Park

Also known as El Moro Canyon in northern Laguna Beach. This trail  provides a great opportunity for excellent loop style rides. The park is almost entirely fireroad with a few good singletrack exceptions. The park landscape differs from that of almost any other park in OC. It is mostly open grassland and open hills with minimal trees.
Directions: El Morro Canyon is located on Pacific Coast Highway between Laguna Beach and Corona Del Mar. Park in the State Park parking lot and make sure to bring a crisp $5 bill for the parking machine. Parking tickets are no joke to the rangers.

  • Parking costs: $5.00 (requires exact change for the vending machine)
  • Facilities: Off of the parking area
  • Difficulty: Intermediate to Expert
  • Trail Users: Almost entirely bikers

Saddleback Mountain

(Santa Ana Mountains) These trails are some of the most interesting and diverse places to ride in all of OC. They range anywhere from rolling fireroad to the steepest and loosest of singletrack.

Directions: Exit the 55 Freeway at Chapman Ave. east. Chapman becomes Santiago Canyon Road as you cross Jamboree Blvd. Proceed 12.8 miles to Live Oak Canyon Road (Cook's Corner) and turn left (there is no right). Continue 4.4 miles to the Trabuco Creek crossing (just past Rose Canyon Road) turn left onto the Trabuco Creek dirt road. You can park here and ride about 5 miles to the trailhead, or drive to Holy Jim Canyon Road (just past the fire station). The parking area is on the left. From south county, exit Interstate 5 at El Toro Road and go east 7.6 miles to Live Oak Canyon Road. Turn right and proceed as described above.

Well organized Ski Vacations! Skiing is a big sport in ASA. We typically organize two Mammoth trips each month - a large bus trip where we get everybody together from all three clubs and stay in nice condos. The other is a smaller, more intimate "Deluxe 3-day" trip staying in an incredibly large and beautiful private home.

Mammoth Lakes:

Viewpoint Condos

Take on the challenge of a double-black diamond at Mammoth Mountain or test your skill in the half pipe. Skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and sledding can all be found at this resort.

Viewpoint Condos are an easy walk to the Village gondola, where you will find yourself at Canyon Lodge, skiing in less than 15 minutes.

Swimming Lessons

WaterSafe Swim School
Using the Smart Fish Method
Classes in Yorba Linda

Healthy babies can start as young as one month in either parent participation or private lessons at our swim school. By the time a baby can crawl, he is able to learn survival swim skills that can potentially save him from drowning. Water Safety Concerns and Learning are NOT seasonal. When your own pools are too cold to use, children can continue learning in a warm swim school pool year-round. We recommend students off ALL ages learn to swim by recovering for air by rolling laterally into a stable, safer, back-float position. - A “Swim~Float~Swim” Method, like “The Smart Fish Method”, has prevented babies and toddlers from drowning, and easily transitions into Freestyle and Backstroke.
