Decorating or Design is personalizing and Staging is De-Personalizing. That is why it is important that you hire someone with training specifically on how to prepare a house for sale.

Use staging to enhance the home's appeal. A professional home stager can make over your home to de-emphasize your personal taste and become more visually appealing to a broader range of buyers. The key is to clear out clutter and clean. Buyers feel the home is well maintained.

Building Inspectors view Staged Homes as well cared for. Staging can extend from re-arranging your own furniture to renting furniture and accessories for a vacant home on the market for sale.

A two-hour consultation with written recommendations for do-it-your-selfers cost around $300. But a full staging of a large home could range from $500 up. The fee structure is based on the size and the scope of the project. Those fees are paid up front to professional stagers, but many real-estate agents include some staging as part of the services they offer their sellers.

The goal for staging is that prospective buyers are able to make an emotional connection and see themselves living inside your home. A staged home sticks out from all of the rest! The investment in staging your home is less than your first price reduction.
