Capistrano Animal Rescue of San Juan Capsitrano features a 'Pet of the Week', which highlights pets who are in need of a home.

Call the Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort at (949) 240-1735 or visit them online for more information about available animals for adoption. For a "hands-on experience" visit the cats and kittens in the cattery at Petsmart on Doheny Park Rd. in San Juan Capistrano

C.A.R.E. Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort

CARE is a local all-volunteer non-profit charitable organization that formed in August 2000 to rescue the adoptable stray and homeless dogs and cats picked up by the Orange County Animal Control in San Juan Capistrano and find them new homes. Simultaneously, CARE has been raising funds to build a local animal rescue and adoption center in San Juan Capistrano. In October 2007, CARE rescued and placed their 1,000th animal with a new adoptive family.

Friends of the Sea Lion

A non-profit, volunteer organization and education center. They rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick and injured seals and sea lions. Programs include a guided tour of the animal care facility and exhibit room, a slide presentation and observation of the animals.

German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County

This non-profit organization is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing purebred German Shepherd Dogs that have no where else to turn. Dogs for adoption are housed in foster home situations and in private boarding facilities. Through a careful screening process, they place loving dogs into forever homes with compassionate individuals and families. Irvine Animal Care Center

5-acre facility houses more than 3,000 homeless animals every year. In the spring of 2000, the IACC introduced THIRD CHANCE FOR PETS, an innovative and life-saving program that allows us to rescue adoptable pets from other area shelters where they might not have the opportunity to find homes. THIRD CHANCE has saved the lives of over 2100 animals in the first three years of the program!.

Mission Viejo Animal Service Serving the cities of Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel and Aliso Viejo

A pro-humane shelter where stray animals are cared for until they are reunited with their owners or until they can be placed in new permanent homes. Stray animals that are brought to the center are held a minimum of 6 full days awaiting redemption by their owner.

Also providing an animal adoption program that includes the screening and review of an individual adoption application, to ensure responsible and long term homes for the animals in their care.

Modjeska Ranch Rescue

A non-profit, volunteer pet rescue organization based in south Orange County, CA. We are dedicated to finding great homes for neglected and abandoned dogs and cats. The animals come from various places: some come from owners who are no longer able to care for them; some are rescued from local shelters; others are saved from the streets. All of the pets are checked by a veterinarian, have their shots updated, and are spayed or neutered.

For the people who love animals and the animals who need to be loved

Pet Place International has been supporting various other rescues, and are now operating their own horse and dog rescue facility. Many loving owners need to relinquish their beloved dogs because they can no longer afford to care for them. In addition, millions of strays are ending up in shelters across the country. Pet Place International rescues as many dogs as possible, rehabilitates them if necessary, and places them in loving Forever Homes.

Pet Project Foundation Benefiting the San Clemente - Dana Point Animal Shelter

Over 28,000 animals have come through this shelter where they are safely housed and loved until permanent homes can be found. Their pro-humane philosophy ensures that no adoptable animal will ever be euthanized, regardless of how long it takes to find them a new home.


Seal Beach Animal Care Center
