California Heart Connection
California Heart Connection is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) organization which supports those born with heart defects. Based in Irvine, it is the only support network of its kind in California. They offer free services to those with heart defects including an online support group, events, and important resources and information. They also provide Teddy Bears to children undergoing heart surgery.

HBIC - Help for Brain Injured Children
H.B.I.C., a non-profit organization has operated continuously since 1967 and is vitally concerned with the physical and environmental condition of the neurologically impaired child and young adults. Seeking to remedy these conditions, H.B.I.C. assists in the medical rehabilitation and educational processes with the most appropriate programs available. H.B.I.C. realizes not every person is going to make it to “ normalcy” but without exception, those who receive therapy in its entirety do show improvement.

Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund
On May 18, 2004, a small group of concerned Marine Corps spouses founded the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund to provide financial grants and other assistance to the Marines, sailors, and families of those injured serving our nation. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund has had over 1,100 cases and given more than $1.9 million in grants to our wounded heroes and their families.

Let's Say Thanks
This is a great way for individuals across the country to recognize U.S. troops stationed overseas. By submitting a message through this site you have the opportunity to send a free personalized postcard greeting to deployed servicemen and women. The postcards, depicting patriotic scenes and hometown images, were selected from a pool of entries from children across the country.

Operation Esperanza
Since 1989, Operacion Esperanza, (translation: Operation Hope) Lake Forest, CA, a non-profit (501) (c), all volunteer, all medical team has performed almost 1,400 free facial reconstructive surgeries for Ecuadorian children in need. For $250, the cost of one surgery, a child receives a beautiful smile that is priceless! These surgeries would equate to more than a million U.S. dollars in free medical care.

The Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation
Scholarship funds for children of Marines and Law Enforcement. Through the continuous support of their donors, they have distributed aid with a value of more than $24,000,000.00 to eligible children.

This worldwide organization of business and professional leaders provide humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Wishland
A California 501 C 3 non-profit foundation that provides support and services for critically ill children and their families. Located just a few blocks south of the Disneyland Resort, Wishland is the only program of its kind on the entire West Coast! Wishland is all about creating laughter, and inspiring hope for families that are dealing with one of the most difficult challenges imaginable. Having a terminally ill or critically ill child.

Outreach Ministries

Calvary Chapel Capo Beach
"Seeking God's guidance to become the church Jesus would produce". Outreach programs include monthly trips to Casa De La Esperanza Orphanage and Music To Make A Difference - this was created at Capo Beach Calvary Chapel, to supply children of all ages, that are in any way abused, orphaned, handicapped, special education or just unable to afford the opportunity to own a musical instrument, with a free instrument of their choice.

Mariners Church
Offering both global and local outreach programs for those who would like to get involved. Lighthouse Ministries is the local outreach ministry of Mariners Church, a non-denominational Christian congregation of approximately 10,000 adults and children. And working in partnership with local churches throughout the world, Mariners Global Outreach Ministry is dedicated to sharing Christ’s love and our resources to strategically benefit Children, Commerce and Communities.

Surfrider Foundation
The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots, non-profit, environmental organization that works to protect our oceans, waves, and beaches. Founded in 1984, Surfrider Foundation's most important coastal environmental work is carried out by Surfrider Foundation's 60 chapters located along the East, West, Gulf, Puerto Rican, and Hawaiian coasts.

There are all kinds of volunteer activities to do, from beach cleanups to water testing to educational presentations to writing newsletters to attending city council meetings to many other things.

Donna O'Neill Land Conservancy -
A steward for a wilderness reserve located in the coastal foothills of Southern California. Their mission is to protect the rich natural and cultural resources of the San Mateo Watershed by providing opportunities for environmental education, biological research, and sensitive recreational access to the 1200-acre Donna O'Neill Land Conservancy in Orange County, California.

They provide a range of programs from nature walks to astronomy nights along with voluteer 'cleanup' days.

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous
12 Step fellowship based on the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Many adult and teen members were overweight, some by as much as 200 pounds. Others were dangerously underweight or controlled their eating to the point of obsession through under-eating, bulimia or exercising. Today, many lead fulfilling lives without abusing food.

Volunteer Organizations

American Red Cross of Orange County
Volunteers are the heart and soul of the American Red Cross. There are many volunteer roles within the different departments of the Orange County Chapter.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County, Inc
CASA is a nonprofit agency that recruits, trains and supports volunteers from the community to serve as mentors and advocates for abused children in Orange County's foster care system. We have over 200 children on our waiting list who could use the caring and support of a Mentor-Advocate, but we need to find more volunteers to match with them.

Guide Dogs for the Blind
Guide Dogs for the Blind provides enhanced mobility to qualified individuals through partnership with dogs whose unique skills are developed and nurtured by dedicated volunteers and a professional staff.

Volunteer opportunities inlcude:

Raise and socialize a Guide Dog puppy
Become a campus volunteer
Enroll in their Speakers Bureau.

The Joyful Child Foundation
The Joyful Child is dedicated to protecting our nation's children from sexual abuse and abduction through programs that unite and uplift communities. Join the national movement to stop crimes against children and sign up for your neighborhood's FREE Samantha's PRIDE Web Program website and intranet system....because awareness and communication are our greatest weapons against child predators.

The Joyful Child Foundation is also looking for volunteers to assist in its Child Watch programs, after school programs, and organizational management.

Pacific Marine Mammal Center
A non-profit, volunteer organization and education center. They rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick and injured seals and sea lions. Programs include a guided tour of the animal care facility and exhibit room, a slide presentation and observation of the animals.

Shipley Nature Center
Opened in 1974, the Shipley Nature Center is an 18-acre fenced natural area within Huntington Beach Central Park, CA.
