Parties: What are they?
In the spa industry, we generally have two types
of Spa Parties: Public & Private. Public Spa
Parties occur when the Spa decided to host an
event and invite their clientele &/or the public.
Private
Spa Parties: How do they work?
When organizing a Private Spa Party, guests
often call wanting to celebrate a certain occasion
(see Most Popular Spa Parties below). The spa
would find out the number of guests, occasion,
budget, and treatments desired. The spa would
then customize spa treatments based on that
information. Sometimes, a spa will already have
a "Spa Party" menu to select from-this maximizes
the convenience for both the guest (hostess).
Advice
for the organizer:
The spa will usually require a credit card or
a deposit as they are reserving a large section
of time for your party. It is best that you
find out the cancellation policy for any last
minute changes your guests may have-you don't
want to be stuck with a bill for no services
rendered. Also, I would recommend giving your
guests 2-3 treatment choices rather than the
entire menu to choose from. It can get very
hectic for the hostess trying to please everyone's
specific needs. When the spa already has a set
party package, it will make the organizer's
job much easier. Finally, when you call to plan
the party, already have a few days in mind as
well as number of guests. This will speed up
the process of finalizing, as the spa will know
how they can accommodate your group the best
way possible.

Public Spa Parties: What are they?
Several times throughout the year, local spas
will have themed parties that they open to the
public or to their guests. Oftentimes, luxury
treatments will be package in shorter increments,
so all of the guests can sample everything and
have a full night of "spa-ing." Also, there
are opportunities to receive free treatments,
makeovers, raffle prizes, etc.
