Gray Whale Migration In Full Swing-$20 Newport Beach Whale Watching - Newport Beach

March is peak of the gray whale migration with whale watching cruises can spot up to half dozen or more gray whales on a single cruise. Newport Beach has whale watching cruises daily to view this amazing migration. Gray whale mother's and their calves will often be viewed during the month of March as they travel northward to their summer feeding grounds. Often these Mother and calve pairs are not very shy and will provide amazing viewings for extended periods on the surface including spy hopping and even breaching completely out of the water.

Festival of Whales - Dana Point

The annual Dana Point Festival of Whales celebrates the return of the once-endangered California Gray Whale with a leviathan-size event. Celebrate spring break this year by running (or come cheer on the runners!) the approximate +5k course beginning and ending at Irvine Lake. The course is partially on the road and partially on trails and includes hills, water, professionally built obstacles and over a dozen mud pits. You asked for even more mud, you got it! You will get wet and you will get muddy. Be sure to bring towels and a change of clothing.

Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza
Saturday, March 14 - Saturday, April 4, 2015

At Irvine Park Railroad's Easter Eggstravaganza, children and adults can ride the train through beautiful Irvine Regional Park. Children ages 2 through 12 can participate in an Easter egg hunt. Each egg is filled with candy or a prize. Easter egg hunts begin daily at 10:00 AM and tickets may be purchased to participate in an egg hunt at a specific time. Please bring an Easter basket for each child that will be participating in the Easter egg hunt. Irvine Park Railroad also offers Easter baskets for sale.

Tickets must be purchased on the day of the event in order to receive a wristband for the Easter egg hunt. Children can also meet and have their picture taken with the Easter bunny (visit web site for cost). Other activities include hay rides, Easter cookie decorating, face painting, carnival games and a lot more. Best Dressed Old West Man, Best Dressed Old West Woman, Best Belt Buckle, and the Hairiest Man (best moustache and/or beard). So don your finest Old West outfit, belt buckle or facial hair! and enter one or more of the contests. There is a $5 entry fee per category for each contestant entered.

The Parade takes place in down-town San Juan Capistrano. This is the nation's largest non-motorized parade. It is totally organized and presented by the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association. Arrive early; most street closures are by 10.00 a.m. The parade begins promptly at 11 am.

The Mercado is a Street Fair and Market Place where you can eat, drink, and shop at over 100 booths. It is THE place to be after the parade! Listen and dance to the music of The Working Cowboy Band, a traditional country music band.

Gray Whale Mother's & Their Calves On Return Of Migration-$20 Whale Watching - Newport Beach

Many of the gray whales will be heading north as the Gray Whale Migration continues in April. Mother's and their calves are the most frequent sightings and are often found very close to shore. The sightings can be extremely good with gray whales found just outside the shoreline and even playing in the surf. Along with Gray Whales, finback whales, and humpback whales are also viewed from whale watching cruises from Newport Beach.

San Clemente Garden Club Garden Tour - San Clemente

The Garden Tour is an annual fundraiser that supports civic beautification, scholarships and public school student garden grants. This self-guided walking tour showcases the unique homes and gardens of the creative San Clemente community. In the 2014 tour, you'll be able to visit a backyard in historic Los Rios area, see beautifully designed pools and gardens and enjoy the relaxing environment of an elaborate Koi pond, an 85 year old Olive tree and more.
