The Silverado Children’s Center offers daycare, preschool, after-school care, home school programs, summer camp, and other activities to children aged 2-12 in a natural setting. The open house and open play will offer opportunities to meet the meet the onsite farm animals, face painting, nature activities, playground play, and more.

Los Alamitos 'Race on the Base' - Los Alamitos

The yearly event has continued to provide not only a forum for local avid runners and walkers, but has also instilled a sense of pride and teamwork between the Los Alamitos City Council, the citizens of Los Alamitos, the Rossmoor Community Services District, and the local business community.

The race is held on the run ways at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos and features helicopters, planes and military vehicles with music throughout the course. Events and activities for the whole family!

Irvine Park Railroad California History Education Program Family Day

Both children and adults can take a trip back in time with Irvine Park Railroad’s 2015 Fourth Grade California History Education Program on family day. This fun program – created by teachers, for teachers - is a hands-on learning experience and meets the State of California curriculum requirements for fourth grade history/social science (for field trip attendees during the week).

Each session will last for two hours. The cost for this program is $14.00 per person. Reservations must be made in advance by calling Irvine Park Railroad at (714) 997-3968.

Whale Watching - Dana Point & Newport Beach

Wonders of Wyland Reception - Laguna Niguel

The Wonders of Wyland Reception includes film highlights from Wyland’s thirty-year campaign to create 100 life size marine life murals in more than 12 countries around the world. Spanning the sides of skyscrapers, sports arenas, and structures, these landmark public murals have captured the imagination of millions and helped inspire a new generation to become better stewards for our environment. The evening’s presentation will share the story of Wyland’s epic campaign, from its humble beginnings to the final, all-encompassing project for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Through original video footage and photographs, guests will get an up-close look at the murals and one man’s dream to change the landscape of art - and to create a gentle reminder to communities around the world that everyone, everywhere can make a difference.

Event will also feature Wyland painting twelve original sumi brush paintings to be auctioned off that evening. Sumi brush paintings are done in traditional Chinese brush-style with black ink on paper.

Guests who attend the Wonders of Wyland reception and also reserve the Whales, Wonders, and Wyland overnight package that evening will enjoy a VIP meet and greet with Wyland at 6 p.m. where he will personally sign one of his coffee table books

$125 per person with $25 of the ticket price going to support the Wyland Foundation

Festival of Whales Dolphin & Whale Watching - Dana Point

Irvine Lake Mud Run

Celebrate spring break this year by running (or come cheer on the runners!) the approximate +5k course beginning and ending at Irvine Lake. The course is partially on the road and partially on trails and includes hills, water, professionally built obstacles and over a dozen mud pits. You asked for even more mud, you got it! You will get wet and you will get muddy. Be sure to bring towels and a change of clothing.

Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza
Saturday, March 14 - Saturday, April 4, 2015

At Irvine Park Railroad's Easter Eggstravaganza, children and adults can ride the train through beautiful Irvine Regional Park. Children ages 2 through 12 can participate in an Easter egg hunt. Each egg is filled with candy or a prize. Easter egg hunts begin daily at 10:00 AM and tickets may be purchased to participate in an egg hunt at a specific time. Please bring an Easter basket for each child that will be participating in the Easter egg hunt. Irvine Park Railroad also offers Easter baskets for sale.

Tickets must be purchased on the day of the event in order to receive a wristband for the Easter egg hunt. Children can also meet and have their picture taken with the Easter bunny (visit web site for cost). Other activities include hay rides, Easter cookie decorating, face painting, carnival games and a lot more. Swallows Day Parade & Mercado - San Juan Capistrano

The Parade takes place in down-town San Juan Capistrano. This is the nation's largest non-motorized parade. It is totally organized and presented by the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association. Arrive early; most street closures are by 10.00 a.m. The parade begins promptly at 11 am.

The Mercado is a Street Fair and Market Place where you can eat, drink, and shop at over 100 booths. It is THE place to be after the parade! Listen and dance to the music of The Working Cowboy Band, a traditional country music band.
