Annual Historical Cemetery Tour - Santa Ana

Presented by the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society. This guided historical walking tour features costumed actors portraying colorful men and women who share stories from Orange County’s past. Docents will guide visitors through scenes that played important roles in the history of the county, culminating in a presentation in Fairhaven’s beautiful 1916 mausoleum. Comfortable shoes are recommended for the hour-and-a-half long walking tour.

Wings, Wheels and Rotors Expo - Los Alamitos
October 23, 2016

A great mix of civilian and military helicopters and aircraft, plus a custom car show featuring classics, muscle cars and more than 300 varieties plus a vendor fair with more than 100 exhibitors selling food and car or aircraft related items. This family event also has games, a kids corner and live entertainment.

Surfing Santa Competition - Dana Point

A fun surf competition where men, women and children dress like Santa or other holiday inspired characters and surf Salt Creek to benefit Surfers Healing.

Saturday is also the opening of the Holiday Surfboard Auction where unique surfboards are up for auction on-line and are displayed throughout The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel through December 31.

Plymouth Rock N' Run 5k - Anaheim Hills

The 5k and 10k course is around the perimeter of the Yorba Regional Park, and the Santa Ana River bike trail. There will be live music throughout the event, courtesy of CSUF jazz combomusic, prizes, food, and a 1k kids fun run for 12 & under.

All of the funds raised by sponsors and race participants will help Reeve-Irvine research to battle spinal cord injuries and other neurological afflictions such as stroke, Alzheimer's, and multiple sclerosis.

Tamale Festival - La Habra

Churro eating contests, as well as best tamale, best dessert tamale, best salsa and hottest salsa contests are part of this annual Festival in La Habra. There also will be food vendors offering pupusas, bacon-wrapped hotdogs, nachos, Mexican-style street corn and baked potatoes, as well as a cantina serving micheladas and margaritas. Live musical entertainment on the main stage (Portola Park) begins at 10:00 a.m.

New this year will be the inclusion of the City's Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony.
