Rotary/CARE Car Show to Benefit Rotary charities, Capistrano Animal Rescue - San Juan Capistrano
February 4, 2012
8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Car Show once again promises a fabulous display of antique and classic cars and trucks, as well as the return of the popular New-Car Row from the 11 dealers of Capistrano Auto Center. South County Lexus will display the stunning, exotic 2012 LFA sports coupe.

Attendees will also be treated to entertainment, food from Las Golondrinas, exhibits and prizes! Contributing to the family-friendly atmosphere, a number of car owners and guests bring their dogs, which must be well-behaved and leashed.

Annual Dr. Joe Cortese Memorial Motorcycle Poker Run - Irvine
February 4, 2012

Honoring popular local vet who passed away in 2008, this fun ride begins at event sponsor Orange County Harley-Davidson in Irvine and wends through various south Orange County locations before finishing at the popular fund-raiser, the Annual Rotary/CARE Car Show in San Juan Capistrano.

The fee of $30 for rider and $20 for passenger by Jan. 27, or thereafter $35 for rider and $25 for passenger, will include coffee and donuts, lunch, prizes for best and worst poker hand and Car Show admission.

Surf City (Pacific Shoreline) Marathon - Huntington Beach
Super Bowl Weekend - February 5, 2012

This exclusive oceanfront course is a California Dream! Run on Pacific Coast Highway past the famous Huntington Beach pier and wind through the legendary surfing beaches of Southern California. The staff at Audubon’s Starr Ranch Sanctuary invite kids ages 8 – 12 to come visit the Ranch after school over three days this winter to learn how our biologists conduct research on wild animals and their habitats. Starr Ranch protects 4000 acres of wildlands in southeast Orange County. The cost is $30 for the three-day session and reservations are required. Wear clothes for outdoor walking. Rain dates by arrangement.

Timberwolf 5 K Run/Walk - Irvine

Los Alamitos 'Race on the Base' - Los Alamitos
February 25, 2012

The yearly event has continued to provide not only a forum for local avid runners and walkers, but has also instilled a sense of pride and teamwork between the Los Alamitos City Council, the citizens of Los Alamitos, the Rossmoor Community Services District, and the local business community.

The race is held on the run ways at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos and features helicopters, planes and military vehicles with music throughout the course. Events and activities for the whole family!

Annual Easter Seals Invitational Golf Tournament - Yorba Linda

The Easter Seals Invitational Golf Classic marks its 13th year with an exciting day of golf, food and fun for a great cause. Participating golfers can look forward to popular contests including Longest Drive or Accurate Drive, Closest-to-the-Pin and a Hole-in-One. Back by popular demand is Golf Ball Bingo, where the first ball drawn wins $500, second ball drawn wins $200, and the third wins $100.

Entrance fees are $300 for a single player and $1100 for a foursome and include eligibility for awards and prizes, lunch, and dinner following a silent auction. All proceeds benefit residents with disabilities like autism and Down syndrome.

Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza
March 17 - April 7, 2012

At Irvine Park Railroad's Easter Eggstravaganza, children and adults can ride the train through beautiful Irvine Regional Park. Children ages 2 through 12 can participate in an Easter egg hunt. Each egg is filled with candy or a prize.

Tickets must be purchased on the day of the event in order to receive a wristband for the Easter egg hunt. Swallows Day Parade & Mercado - San Juan Capistrano

The Parade takes place in down-town San Juan Capistrano. This is the nation's largest non-motorized parade. It is totally organized and presented by the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association. Arrive early; most street closures are by 10.00 a.m. The parade begins promptly at 11 am.

The Mercado is a Street Fair and Market Place where you can eat, drink, and shop at over 100 booths. It is THE place to be after the parade! Listen and dance to the music of The Working Cowboy Band, a traditional country music band.
