Gray Whale Mother's & Their Calves On Return Of Migration-$20 Whale Watching - Newport Beach

Many of the gray whales will be heading north as the Gray Whale Migration continues in April. Mother's and their calves are the most frequent sightings and are often found very close to shore. The sightings can be extremely good with gray whales found just outside the shoreline and even playing in the surf. Along with Gray Whales, finback whales, and humpback whales are also viewed from whale watching cruises from Newport Beach.

Pet Expo - Costa Mesa
April 25-27, 2014

A giant animal entertainment and education festival. It’s the largest pet and pet product expo in the world. Over 1,000 animals will entertain you in stage shows, competitions and demonstrations including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rodents, goats, pigs, llamas, rabbits, miniature horses and more. There will also be pet adoptions, pet products for sale, petting zoo, how-to workshops and advice from animal experts. It is presented by a nonprofit organization to promote responsible pet care. Please do not bring your pets.

Earth Day at the Bay - Newport Beach
April 26, 2014
10 am - 3 pm

Presented by the Newport Bay Conservancy, this annual event is fun for the entire family. This Earth Day event features many exhibits and booths designed to help us connect with the natural world and help preserve it for future generations. The exhibitors include environmental organizations like Sea and Sage Audubon, the Environmental Nature Center, the American Cetacean Society and many more.

Entertainment and acitivities include a live raptors display & demonstration, children’s arts and crafts, live music and scavenger hunts. Free event. Food will be available for purchase from The Burnt Truck, Tamarindo and Front Porch Pops.

Earth Day at the Ocean Institute - Dana Point

Help spread awareness and appreciation for our environment! Earth Day activities will include creating fun, eco-friendly crafts and learning about the importance of protecting natural environments through hands-on activities.

Volunteer for the beach/harbor clean-up and get free admission for the day! Clean-up hours are 9am - 11am; check-in at the front of the Ocean Institute; supplies will be provided.
