The JCC School of Art located at the Merage JCC is focused on developing the individual’s love for the visual arts. Classes are exploratory in nature and promote intellectual, aesthetic and emotional growth. Projects are designed to introduce the student to a variety of media and the nature of the creative process. Classes are taught by instructor Lynne Kaplan, well known for her unique teaching techniques and Sammy Jass, ceramics and mosaics instructor. Adult Classes are “Open Studio Style” or scheduled classes and are available Monday through Friday. Children and Teen classes are eight weeks in length and cover several different media; Classes include: Little Rembrandts; Mosaics; Advanced Rembrandts; Teen Classes and more! Small groups and private lessons are available upon request.
