Held at Doheny State Beach, local residents are encouraged to bike or walk to their favorite viewing spot to avoid the annual parking difficulties. If you must drive, plan ahead. Parking lots at Doheny State Beach and the Dana Point Harbor fill up very early.

Annual Community Fireworks Show and Festival
Friday, July 4, 2009
5:00-9:30 PM (fireworks at 9 PM)

Live music by Cloud 9 (Classic and Modern Rock cover band) stilt-walkers, balloon artists, face painters, unicyclist, bounce houses, petting zoo and more! NOMINAL FEES MAY APPLY for activities (Approximately $2-$4)

Games offered by Parks & Recreation will be Free and will include small prizes. Food is available for purchase in the festival area. There is no alcoholic beverage service.

2009 4th of July Parade & Pier Festival
The Festival runs for three days, July 3-5.

Fireworks will be shot from the end of the pier at dusk on July 4th. Kids favorites include bounce houses and inflatables.

The Bolsa Chica Conservancy will be hosting a 4th of July benefit brunch at Freds Mexican Caf in downtown Huntington Beach on Friday, July 4, 2009. Sponsored by Freds Mexican Caf, Laird Coatings Resource Corporation and Surf City Kiwanis, all proceeds from the benefit will go to support the Bolsa Chica Conservancys Wetland Science Education Programs and the Education and Restoration Center. Come view the parade by the ocean and enjoy a delicious all you can eat buffet!

The race has been a tradition in the city for the last 20 years, attracting as many as 1,200 runners from throughout California.

This event includes a Family Fun Zone with games, crafts and activities, and a pancake breakfast which starts at 7:30 am

The Mission Viejo Annual Street Faire and Fireworks Spectacular
July 4, 2009
Noon - 9 PM (fireworks at 9)

This is a day of fun and celebration specifically for the families of the Mission Viejo community. Rides and games enhance an exciting carnival atmosphere for all ages. Local clubs and organizations are invited to set up booths for food, drink, crafts, gifts and games. These booths act as fund raisers for the participating organizations and help make the Faire more enticing to visitors. Free entertainment includes music, dance and comedy for the enjoyment of children and adults alike, with performers drawn from local talent as well as professionals from outside the area. As would be expected for a Fourth of July Faire, the event climaxes at dusk in a spectacular fireworks display.
