Nutcracker Festival
1st Saturday in December

Holiday Street Fair held at the Center Street Promenade. The celebration includes a tree lighting ceremony, rides for children, entertainment, food and a visit from some special guests. The event is sponsored by the Downtown Anaheim Merchants Association, the Nutcracker Holiday Committee, the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Community Foundation.

 

Spring

Civil War Re-enactment
March

For two days the city’s normally serene, beautiful Central Park is transformed into a battleground between the Confederate artillery and the Union infantry, complete with combat, cannons and encampments. The annual event includes cannon blasts, fiddlers, banjos, flutes, drums, festive costumes, troop encampments and booths where hoop skirts and military period costumes were sold.

Cinco de Mayo - May
A day of entertainment and festivities commemorating the Battle of Puebla when a Mexican militia defeated the invading French Army. Festivities include the crowning of a fiesta queen, carnival rides, food booths, entertainment & soccer tournament. Held the first weekend in May.

Fall

Annual Chancellor's Ball
October

This black tie optional event has raised more than $600,000 to provide student scholarships and support innovative programs at Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College. Since the ball's inception, Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) has honored 41 Partners in Education for their outstanding support of the district, its colleges and its students. In addition to a dinner and awards ceremony, the event features a silent auction and the popular "Buy the Book" live auction inviting participants to step up to "buy" book scholarships to help students meet the skyrocketing costs of textbooks-one of the "hidden" costs of attending college.

Halloween Parade and Fall Festival
October

Three-day event that consists of costume contests, live entertainment, a craft fair, fabulous food, fun rides, game booths and much more. The Halloween Parade has been an Anaheim tradition since 1924, when baseball legend Babe Ruth was honored as the Grand Marshal of the celebration.
