Canyon Hills Community Council’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration
Events on July 2 & July 4, 2011

Saturday, July 2, 7:00 pm -
Patriotic Choir Concert and Ice Cream Social

Monday, July 4 -
Food, game booths and entertainment will begin in the afternoon. The spectacular fireworks display at Peralta Park begins at 9:00 p.m. Other events include a 5/10 K run, a pancake breakfast, parade and the Yankee Doodle Dog Show.

4th of July Fireworks Cruises

Enjoy a unique evening of fun on the water, complete with a live Fireworks demonstration and a delicious BBQ buffet dinner! Watch in awe as the City of Dana Point provides one of the best fireworks displays on the coast. You even get to enjoy the dynamic presentations offered by neighboring cities off in the distance as well. This trip is limited and will not be crowded! This cruise is 2 hours long and there is much savory BBQ to be enjoyed. Soda and water are included as well! A cash bar is available.

$79 Adults, $39 Kids 5-12, 4 and under are FREE!

Annual Community Fireworks Show and Festival
Monday, July 4, 2011
5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

There will be live music and additional entertainment. Games offered by Parks & Recreation will be free and will include small prizes. NOMINAL FEES MAY APPLY for SOME activities (Approximately $2 to $4)

Food is available for purchase in the festival area. All food is reasonably priced, and is being offered by local charity organizations. No alcohol is served or allowed in the area. All coolers will be checked. No glass containers, no smoking, no umbrellas, and no pets.

Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. and last for approximately 20 minutes.

Annual Run for Fun Event
Monday, July 4, 2011

A healthy way to kick off your Fourth of July Festivities! La Palma's Fitness Run for Fun is more than just another run: it's an opportunity to experience that small town/hometown sense of community. 5K/10K runs start at 7:30 am.

Yankee Doodle Dash & Family Fun Zone runs 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. The Yankee Doodle Dash is a non-competitive, 2/5 of a mile, run for kids, ages 2 to 12 years old. The Family Fun Zone has plenty to do for families of all ages including inflatable obstacle course, potato sack race and a tug-o-war match. Even the little ones will have fun with the patriotic arts and crafts.

The La Palma Kiwanis Club will also serve their annual Pancake Breakfast from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m.

The Mission Viejo Annual Street Faire and Fireworks Spectacular
July 4, 2011
Noon - 9 PM

Held yearly on Olympiad Road and in the area adjoining Lake Mission Viejo, this Faire provides a classic Fourth of July celebration for the city of Mission Viejo. Rides and games enhance an exciting carnival atmosphere for all ages. Local clubs and organizations set up booths for food, drink, crafts, gifts and games. Free entertainment includes music, dance and comedy for the enjoyment of children and adults alike, with performers drawn from local talent as well as professionals from outside the area. As would be expected for a Fourth of July Faire, the event climaxes at dusk in a spectacular fireworks display.

Newport Beach

Old Glory Boat Parade
July 4, 2011
1 pm parade start time (Gala - 7 am - 11pm)

Each year the Newport Beach Harbor becomes a festive delight as owners adorned their boats in red-white-&-blue decorations, balloons, streamers and waving flags that outline the skies as Sousa Marches and Anthems fill the air. Families and friends from near and far arrive at the bay front beaches and yacht clubs along the peninsula and the many islands, vying for the best spot to settle down and view the boat parade.

The all day fun-filled gala with lots to do, will be at the American Legion Post 291 beginning at 7:00AM where volunteers will prepare a fine Pancake Breakfast for a donation of only $8 per person. Lunch and dinner with Tri-tips or chicken will begin around 12:00PM and run until 6:00PM for a donation of only $10 per plate. Raffle tickets are available with great prizes to be given away. The band "The Retros" will also be playing on the patio from 1:00PM to 5:00PM for your entertainment and dancing.

The City's 50th Birthday committee is providing pony rides and souvenir 4th of July photos at no charge. There will be "Free" old fashioned Family Games for the entire family to do enjoy. Food, Beer & Wine will be available to purchase. Exhibit and vendor booths will line the park grounds. "Family Style" will perform on stage from 6-8:45pm, with a dance floor for dancing. Fireworks display takes place at 9pm and guests are encourage to bring blankets & chairs.

Plenty of free parking is available in the sports park and on Camino Del Avion. Pre-Sale Wrist bands will be available June 15 - July 1 at the Community Center. Tickets and wristbands will also be available at the door.
